🌿Preparing your heart for transformation
January 25, 2025
I hope this message finds you well and full of hope for the journey ahead.

Change is an inevitable part of life and it isn't always welcome. Often, we try to navigate it by making adjustments, setting new goals or striving to be "better," yet, lasting transformation doesn't come from external efforts alone. It starts within—when we allow God to shape, refine, and renew us from the inside out.

Maybe you've been feeling stuck in certain areas of your life. Perhaps there are habits, thoughts, or emotions that you've been wrestling with. Or maybe you simply have a deep longing for something new but aren't quite sure where to start.

Wherever you are today, I want you to know that God is ready to do a new work in you. But transformation isn't something you can force—it's something you need to allow, and it starts with an open heart.

A New Heart and a New Spirit

One of my favorite verses about transformation is Ezekiel 36:26:

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

What a beautiful promise! God doesn't just tinker, and modify our behaviour—He renews our heart. He removes the hardened places, the walls we've built, the burdens we carry, and replaces them with something soft, new, and responsive to His Spirit.

But here's the key: If we want to experience transformation we have to be willing to surrender.

The process of transformation isn't always easy. Sometimes it means letting go of what's familiar. It might involve facing areas of our lives we've been avoiding. It might require us to step outside of our comfort zone.

When we're courageous and do that it makes room for God to do deep work, and we start to experience freedom, peace, and clarity like never before.

An Invitation to Reflection

I invite you to set aside a few moments to reflect and ask God to reveal where He wants to do a transforming work in your heart.

  1. đź“ť Action Step: A Heart Check-in

Find a quiet space and ask yourself these questions:

  2. What areas of my heart feel heavy or hardened? (What disappointments, wounds, or fears have I've been carrying?)
  3. Where do I sense God calling me to grow or change? (Is there a pattern, habit, or mindset that needs to shift?)
  4. Am I fully open to God's transformation? (Or am I resisting in certain areas?)

Write down whatever comes to mind. Don't overthink it—just let your thoughts flow. Sometimes clarity comes simply by putting words on paper.

Then, take a few moments to surrender those areas to God. You don't need to have all the answers or know how change will happen. Simply offer them up to Him and trust that He will guide you step by step.

A Prayer for You

Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart. I know that transformation starts with You, and I invite You to do a new work in me. Remove anything that's keeping me from walking fully in Your will—whether it's fear, doubt, past hurts, or anything else. Renew my heart and mind, and help me to trust You in this process. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me into the new things You have for me. I surrender this journey to You, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You've begun in me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

This is just the beginning

Transformation doesn't happen overnight—it's a journey of daily surrender, small choices, and growing in trust. But when we take even the smallest step toward God, He meets us there with grace and power.

I'd love to hear from you! Hit "reply" and let me know:
