Today's Coaching Moment - Are You Putting First Things First?

I know that all the good things that are happening in my life are the direct result of God's grace and love and the choices I've made to respond to Him and do things His way.

Sadly, when it comes to pursuing your destiny, most people don't seem to realize that you can work hand in hand with God to accomplish His will.

Many Christians are so afraid that they'll do something that isn't God’s will that they don't do anything. Others are very busy doing things that are their own desires and not what God had planned for them.

There is a balance that requires taking some risks and knowing when to wait for God's timing. Making mistakes and learning in the process are essential steps in moving forward and walking in your destiny. God has lots of grace for us, especially when we're learning to walk.

Food for thought – a powerful principle:

"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers — most of which are never even seen — don't you think He'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?

What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Saturate your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You will find that all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." Matthew 6:30-34 The Message

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 NIV

When you place a high value on your spiritual life and on building your relationship with God, He promises that every-day human concerns will be met. God promises that He will help you deal with whatever comes up when the time comes.

When you put Him FIRST He guides you in every area of your life, He promises that He will take care of the other things when you focus on Him, and He does.

Too many times I've become so busy doing things FOR God that I stopped spending extended periods of time WITH Him. Then I would go back to spending so much time reading, studying, and praying that I neglected to spend time helping people or pursuing my destiny.

We need more balance, not either or, both!

Now I'm more consistent. I keep my eyes on Jesus and ask Him to help me schedule my day. I recommend you start each day asking the Lord...,

=> What do YOU want me to do today?

=> What is the best use of my time today?

=> What do you want me to make a priority?

And throughout the day ask, "What's the best use of my time right NOW?"

Stop letting past failure and excuses hold you back. Take the necessary steps to grow your relationship with God AND accomplish what He has put on your heart to do.

TODAY, live your life ON PURPOSE!
