You Are Special To God

You are an original, not just a copy of someone else.

You have a gift. Yes, you have a gift. Everyone has something unique, something that no-one else can do, and that includes you.

Plato said,

"There is a place that you are to fill and no-one else can fill - something you are to do, which no-one else can do"

• What are you doing with your gift?
• Do you recognise your talent for what it is?

If you don't use your special gifts the world will be poorer without it. When you hold back, fail to use your gifts and give in to the fear of what people might think, the world is deprived of your involvement. People lose out, when you don't choose to be who you really are.

You simply need to start being who you really are. You don't need fixing, you just need to be aware of who you are in Christ, step into it the life that's inside of you and be prepared to let it out.

Don’t wait until you’re perfect. Everybody could grow and develop and learn and love some more… yet what you have right now is what's needed right now.

Some of you know what your gifts are, and just need to find ways of using your gifts more. Some of you have an idea of what your gifts might be, yet don’t really believe that they're mportant enough.

Some of you still don’t know that you’re gifted and talented. You haven’t yet taken hold of the fact that you are unique and very special.

You have something to bring to the world that no one else can. You just need to stop, recognise what your gifts are and get on and use them. Whatever you do, don’t wait until you’re 52 to start following the dreams you put on the shelf in your twenties. All creation is standing on tiptoe to see the children of God come into their own.

Make a point of discovering who you are in Christ and take hold of your God given destiny. Take hold of your birthright. Nothing is impossible to those who love God.

Ask God what He has for you to do. Start living to your potential and see what happens. Dare to discover what is possible when you break out of your self imposed limitations.

Go and dare to do something incredible

A few weeks ago a friend of mine was walking along a busy road carrying her shopping when a car ground to a halt in the middle of the road. A woman ran out of the car holding her baby screaming, "Help me my baby’s dying."

My friend dropped her shopping and ran to the woman. The baby was blue and cold and wasn't breathing. As a crowd gathered, my friend cradled the baby's head and called out to Jesus to restore life to the baby. She prayed for 4 minutes calling out to Jesus for the baby’s life while the desperate mother tried mouth to mouth. Gradually the baby began to warm and eventually opened his eyes.

Nakisha went on to pray with the woman who was sobbing hysterically and quietly left the scene as the police and ambulance arrived.

When the woman asked her, "who are you?" she said, "That doesn't matter, you just need to know that Jesus loves you and your baby."

Nikisha is an Asian Christian and was in the heart of an Asian area of the city, she saw what needed doing and called out to Jesus. She has never prayed so publicly before and has never before prayed that anyone be brought back from death.

Take the opportunities that our wonderful God presents. He's looking for ordinary people who will present themselves as a living sacrifice and do exploits in His name.

Appreciation is a free gift that you can give to anyone you encounter – it is completely your choice. And each time you choose to thank someone for a job well done, you are making the world a better place.

Everybody, regardless of their circumstances can choose to make a difference.
