What will YOU leave behind? What will your legacy be?

The Lord has given you precious gifts and He has prepared works for you to do that only you can do, in the way that you will do them. The Lord has deposited great treasure in you, He had great purpose in mind when He created you.

What does the Lord want you to do with what He has given you?

• What are you doing to make sure you leave a lasting legacy?
• What do you need to do differently to make sure that your treasure isn't lost when you go to be with Jesus?
• How will you ensure that your legacy continues to live on beyond your earthly existence?

Thinking about the legacy I would leave behind is what drew me to start sharing content on the internet in 2006. The sadness I felt when I thought that I might depart the earth without leaving the legacy the Lord had called me to leave, helped me to turn my life around at a very low point in my life.

I was struggling physically and very disappointed that the Lord was healing other people close to me but that I was getting worse. I had reached the point where I thought I would rather die rather than keep on going on in pain and with increasing disability.

When I thought of dying and all that would mean for my young family, I realized that if I had died then, everything that God had ever taught me, everything that I'd ever learned would die with me. I knew that there was much that would be left undone and that any legacy I left wouldn't be anywhere near as as rich as the Lord intended it to be.

A Turning Point

That was a defining moment for me. The Lord clearly spoke to me about what He still had left for me to do, and He has led me to do just that, to leave a lasting imprint, to leave a legacy. He has taken me on an amazing journey, and I am so grateful that He helped me to shake off self pity and rely on Him for the strength I needed to fulfill my calling.

What is the Lord calling you to do? Do you know?

The Lord wants you to know Him and make Him known. You CAN do that. You can know God and touch people’s lives one person at a time. You can affect the next generation and inspire them to do the same.

I encourage you to seek the Lord, ask Him to speak to you, and then be sure to act on what you hear. Let that be the pattern for your life be waiting for Jesus to share what is on His heart, and then doing what you hear Him say.

The times in my life when I do that, when I shut myself away and spend time with Jesus, are precious times.

When you do things out of spending time with God rather than doing them on your own initiative they work out so much better. Time with God truly is the key to abundant life and fruitfulness.

It's humbling to think that Jesus waits for us, that He longs for us. That the time we choose to spend with Him is precious to Him, and not just to us. Jesus wants you to spend time with Him, He so enjoys it when you choose to set time aside and devote it to being with Him.
