Who wants to feel better, have more energy, and sleep soundly? This week's guest article by wellness coach Sharon Graham, points the way. One of the first major areas that I address when coaching a client in wellness is the issue of drinking more water. Begin by taking notice of how much water you're currently drinking. Then work on drinking more than you do already. If you're only drinking one glass of water per day on average, then go to two per day this week. That's a step in the right direction. The next week go to three glasses per day. Just keep taking those little steps consistently, and you'll soon notice that you're enjoying drinking water and feeling better. Read Elixir of Life! to learn more about the importance of being a water drinker. The second major factor to wellness is exercise, or as one of my exercise-phobic friends prefers, "activity." You probably already knew this one was coming. Yes, God designed our bodies to move. Not to sit behind a desk only to go home at night and sit on the couch. Begin by moving more this week than you did last week. If you didn't move much last week, a small improvement will be a fantastic breakthrough. Learn what you enjoy doing. Perhaps it's walking, swimming, or following an aerobic dvd at home. Begin to be more consistent with something and gradually increase your duration and repetitions per week. The bottom line is that exercise is not an option if you want to walk in optimal health. You Knew It Was Coming addresses this issue more specifically. Don't be intimidated though...just move more this week than you did last. The third major factor to wellness is to eat more superfoods. I call them God-foods. These are foods that are nutrient dense and don't come in boxes, packages, or plastic containers. You probably know many of them already. And no, donuts are not on the list -- but dark chocolate is, hallelujah! Feel free to go here to see my list of Super Foods All you need to do is eat more superfoods this week than you did last week. Note how many superfoods you're eating in a day. The next day make a decision to eat one more than you did the day before. Continue on this path and you'll quickly begin replacing less desirable foods with more of God's super foods. The fourth major area of wellness is supplementation. Sad to say, we no longer receive all the nutrients that we need for life and health in our food supply. Research shows that the nutrient value of our food supply has diminished so drastically that it is virtually impossible to get all the nutrients you need from food alone. You've probably heard that only two peaches a day would have supplied a woman's vitamin A RDA in 1951. Today she would have to eat more than 53 peaches to get the smae amount. Peaches anyone? And peaches aren't the only food to show a significant loss. So you need to supplement. Through my own health journey and years of study, I've learned that all supplements are not created equal. One of the things I've discovered is that when you buy supplements, you need to be aware that the lowest price is usually not the best value. Supplements that supply the body with nurtrients to correct deficiencies and bring about healing at the cellular level, don't come cheap. Some of the specific nutrients our bodies need is cellular support, endocrine support, anti-oxidant support and nutritional support through a food-based multiple vitamin and mineral. Beware synthetic immitations! So, there you have four simple steps to propel you forward on the road to optimal health. All are very doable and will bring great improvements in your quality of life. We will be sharing MUCH more in next week's teleseminar. Here is where you can register to discover what you need to do to become well.
